Thinking on a title for this picture, I’ve noticed the phonetic similarity between the words Maya (Sanskrit), malla (Spanish, meaning ‘mesh’) and how the Portuguese language preserved in teia (‘web’) those vowels. These words share a semantic área: the mesh, the network, the web, but also share these vowels, a-i-a, e-i-a, which are pronounced alltogether in a voice blow and have the effect of something that expands to some extent to retract again, so we become trapped. Maya, ‘midwife’, was the mother of Hermes, who managed to escape to his care. Obviously, this is nothing more than a poetic disquisition…
